Listening: 'Stay away' by The Honorary Title

I slept quite a bit after my swim. I skipped swimming for two weeks and I took it slowly today. Well I had to cause I was sharing a lane with this older lady who scares me quite a bit. Was waiting for her to let me have the lane to do my 800metres. Until a lady came in when I was in lap 13. Boo. There are more blokes swimming today. Must be the influence of the Olympics.

Went for Renee's party on saturday which was really good. We just sat outside and chat. Then we went for Twister where I got the worse spots and kept falling. Boo there for me haha. But it was hilarious and heaps fun. Love your dancing munkle haha.

Second part of the holiday. Right. We weren't intending to surf on the second day but as I accidentally left my red camera with Dan. We had to go meet him. The waves were as awesome or better than yesterday, I was deadly tempted. Even Zeren could see it in my face and I begged him to join too. Haha...he had no regrets whatsoever because now Mr Chan is hooked on surfing. Sweet! It was a better day for surfing but more accidents for me. My leg went the wrong way when Zeren's board collided in mine. But I think he fixed something in that hip for me. Odd. Zeren's has yet to gain control of the board so there was another slip up. He was surfing too close to me and I had to jump off the board to avoid a collision. When I went under and covered my head, his fin sliced across my arm and it was dirtfully painful. I was lucky I covered my head, it was lucky that it wasn't a fibreglass board. During then I had a bad landing when I dismount wrongly and landed on the knee, so that bruise was huge and painful. Yup, all good bruises from this triple session surfing. No worries, mom and dad, I'm all good. This is good pain! Though my left arm is still swollen with a knot from that fin thing and my bruise on the knee still hurts with no colour? I don't get it but meh... will post pictures of that another time.

Beachhuts was nice and cosy. It's smaller than Brighton but Tullie was there as usual in the morning. Tullie's is still and forevermore a sweetheart. The night before, we brought over Ned's Family Guy to keep ourselves occupied. But I fell asleep halfway. Another reason for me to watch it again? We are still trying to figure out how to get the videos out of the video camera. Dad! Need help! How did you do it the last time? Plus, Dan got photos of us surfing so he can put it in his catalogue. Hope we look good.

Bought a $50 DVD player! Hurray! Another surfing session this saturday with Zeren's peeps. Gonna try a 7 foot board and try the cutback. *thumbs up* And I'm charging my batteries for my cameras for Monarto Zoo. I never leave home without a camera. :D

Listening: 'What I've done' by Linkin Park

It's been a long time. I haven't felt the need to blog but now I do have something to blog about. I've been working pretty hard on my assignments and an online publishing job for Business SA which David scored for me. I had less than a week to come up with two illustrations. I intended to work with conte but that technique failed terribly which resulted in a one day digital painting of the sketches. And it was the day before Zeren and I left for our two day holiday. Half expecting the illustrations to be rejected, I left home for two days with the knowledge that what I did wasn't good enough. It wasn't my best work. After which I came home on tuesday evening with emails from Business SA and David, they are gonna be published!

Back to the two day holiday. Zeren had a week off his uni and I had monday and tuesday off of uni. So a holiday is something both of us really needed, especially me. 14 sketches, 2 illustrations and a very dark and depressing period of time. We decided on a double surfing lesson on Monday and we stayed over at Beach Huts again. Surfing is my true therapy. We had Meg and Dan all to ourselves. It was refreshing especially when I caught that first wave back in. I've never caught the first wave back in before. During lunch, while Zeren went to look for an ATM, Dan and I chilled out. I asked him about him competing and all. He came in first for competition for the over 28s and he's one of the best in South Australia which is freaking awesome. We are being taught by the best. I mentioned my ultimate dream is to ride in a barrel, ever since being inspired by Point Break. If you guys haven't watch that movie, go rent it. He mentioned a couple of women white water surf competitions in the area which he reckons I could be ready for. Yup, that's where you go 'woah that boy... don't think that far..'

Meg came by and Dan filled her in on our conversation and Meg has been teaching me heaps of stuff like look up and keep the posture. She even broke down on how the competition works with lots of turns and dismounting the board properly. Wow, it is getting to her head. It's good for me cos I get to learn lots of neat stuff. Zeren's getting pretty good. With the one on one lessons, he was able to stand up more often and longer. He's aiming for the bigger waves. Now I got him hooked.

I will describe day two of our trip soon but all I know is bring a freaking tripod Claire! And the video camera is an awesome holiday tool especially when you're surfing in it. Haha! Now I have to update my wishlist. School holidays have officially started but I had my best holiday. Oh yes, happy belated Renee! Looking forward to your party this friday.

Now we have to battle an ANT war at home! And it's fun to read through Zeren's essays...As such....Not only.....PHOTOS!
