Listening: 'No stars' by Maria Taylor

Two and a half more weeks to go and rush for assignments. I'm still painting my self portrait and it's getting there...really slowly. There is progress so that's my consolation. Might have to edit Daniel Johns sketch though. Pin stripes and straight lines. Quite overwhelming. And I do apologise if I took alittle long to update.

Last week was a bad week for me and I appreciate those who cheered me up especially last thursday where Renee brought in a banner and Tyler baked a cake. Good job Tyler. *thumbs up* Looks like you have the job to bake a cake for anyone's birthday in studio now haha. Talked to mom a few days ago and she mentioned my chinese birthday is next thursday. I think a week of little celebrations is more than enough for me. Renee organized alittle outing on saturday but only Anna, Suzy and Freya came. It was pretty fun though heaps cold on that day. Lunch at Sushi King as Renee recommended, off to get autographs from Junior Pro Surfers outside Rip Curl at Rundle Mall. I only know Stephanie Gilmore, the chick who beat Layne Beachley in a recent competition. All teenagers. Suzy got them to sign so many posters for different people. I thought that was funny and yeah we took a photo with two of them. Though Suzy holds the photos of that day. She was secretly taking photos. She has indeed taken over my job of doing that. Then we did something old school, heading to a photo booth to have our crazy photos taken. Nah, nothing like the Asian sticker thing. Anna, Suzy and I had to squeeze into one small tiny space. I thought that was rather funny.

Anyway, yesterday was pretty interesting. Dave didn't come so Stuart let us head off early. Most of the class managed to leave first while 7 of us got held behind by Rose, another teacher which Stuart instructed for her to check on us. Shooed back into class. After she left for her class, we were plotting. Renee was to pretend to go to the toilet but she's pressing the lift button. When the lift opened, all of us ran into the lift and phew! Escaped! Wonder what Rose must be thinking when she'll be walking into an empty class. Somehow I hope we don't get into trouble tomorrow. Lots of time to kill. Walked around town. Renee and I decided to visit the Museum where I swore I saw that stuff lion's tail moved. Renee didn't believe until I made her stare at the tail for a couple of minutes till it moved again. Ha! But the museum is heaps fun compared to the one in singapore. Tsk tsk.

Finished another assemblege photoshoot. Amazing how this one took half an hour and the results turned out better. I hope Toby just forget about that toy train. *growls* More work again today.

Happy birthday to me

Beware of whiny post cos it's my birthday and I can cry if I want to haha

Definitely rated one of the saddest yet most productive birthday. Wasn't into it since I got early presents and all and partly, it's a monday where people are busy with assignments or classes while it's a day off for me. Didn't want to bother them too so better make myself useful and start on the self portrait with Robin's help.

Unconsciously I never knew that the whole alone and birthday would affect me. First time I'm alone and not celebrating the extra year put on me. I thought I'll be alright since I did my early birthday trip to surfing and people gave me early presents months ago. But managed to swim my frustrations out in the morning into each stroke. Felt pretty good about that. After that headed over to Robin's to paint in his studio. Pretty intimidated about painting people cos I've never done it before and painting in the expert's prescence...scary. But he was pretty helpful though I wished he would forget that it was my birthday. Thanks Renee. I slashed my finger while scraping paint off and made a diagonal cut which hurts like crazy. Had a not-so-nice encounter with the staff at the indian restaurant when I came to collect my food. Apparently I must be some 'silent walker' that they didn't hear my walking. When they did noticed, man, they weren't too happy about me walking in on them. You're lucky your food taste freaking good so that kept me happy for a while.

There were signs that a bad day was gonna show up on the aftermath of birthday. I was alright when I went to uni this morning. But I guess the combination of mental stress I put myself through over the weekend by flooding work onto me plus the depression of the birthday was overwhelming. I actually felt like I was gonna break down in studio. Pat on the back for holding it together and the effort paid off. Dave liked the studies. Actually decided to skip photography class. I'm not the type who skip classes by the way so it's quite surprising that I would say it. I really feel like I had to. Aching to head on home to do whatever more work I can distract myself with and most importantly to get to my bed. But I had to do a large print which didn't turn out so well. Couldn't find the right size of canvas but got some paints. Before I could reach my bed, I had something else to do at the post office. Again, not-so-nice guy who wanted more than my ID to confirm that the package is for me. Luckily the younger guy who knows me told him that I was alright and to hand over the package. Yes dude, hand over my stuff. By the way, birthday cards from family have arrived. Postman definitely reads my blog. Freaky.

But the rest in bed has proven to be heavenly. Got some sleep though a phone call from some charity woke me up, asking me if my mummy or daddy home? shocker...I sound like a kid when I just woke up. Since you woke me up, I played along. 'No, they're not home' in an innocent voice I could possibly portray. Pulled it off and happily hopped back into bed when I realised it was time to get up and move on. Definitely the right decision to skip class.

Though there was a highlight on the birthday thing. Zeren sang to me for the first time. Well, it's a birthday song but it was like 'ohmigosh!! he sang!! to me!!' Zeren is never into singing so huge highlight. Thanks love. *bear hugs* Thought I do an little list of my birthdays.

Worse Birthday: 12th. Fainted and fell in the carpark while my principal talked way too much and too long. I broke my tooth in half and spent my morning in the sickbay, blooding gushing out. Followed by trip to the dentist.

Best Birthday: 22nd (same time as mother's day). Last year when zeren flew over and spent the day with me in Glenelg. With him there, best birthday gift. Though I did came down with the flu. Probably eating ice cream in the cold played a small part.

Most productive birthday: This year! I'm painting skintones on my face! And slashed my finger.

How convenient. Some sort of injury or flu on 3 of these awarded years of mine. When is my birthday wish gonna come true...for abby and stewie to come back. Don't worry about me mom and dad, doing fine. *thumbs up* Overall, thank you all for your wishes and Steph, please stop losing your phone.

PS: How cool will it be to rent-a-pet? Rent me!

Happy Mom's Day

Big fat happy mother's day to my mom! Miss ya loads and we're still on for the chilli crabs yeah? I just hope all my cards made it to grandma and mom. Lately, I have some postal issue. People have sent me stuff but I'm not receiving them. Ben sent a postcard from the Carribean over two weeks ago and nothing. Maybe the postman did read my blog after all and decided to sabotage me. So listen up postman, you better own up those letters and cards. I know you're just delivering the bills only but I want my personal stuff back, ya hear! *growls*

I'm enjoying the current state of our grass here. Just so refreshing now after the rain.

Speaking of which, I think I got this spider who just insists on building her web in my balcony. All spiders do that of course but this one (yet to be seen by human eyes) just loves to build big ones across from wall to wall just to block your way. Amazing. If only the spider was named Charlotte so she can tell me what she wants. Her web is so distinct that I know it's the same spider. Without fail, the fly is hanging in the middle of her web. I had destroyed her creation twice. I did it again this morning and to my amazement, an hour later, another one was up from a wall to my balcony door.

Had quite an eventful saturday morning. Was rushing to correct some photos to get it done at the nearby photoshop for my art assemblege. Was surprised when they said if I wanted to blow it up 12 by 15 inches, it'll take 14 working days. That's freaking hell too long for me. I just stuck with the expensive test prints. Not going back there to print photos again. On my way home for lunch, there was a book displayed outside a house like it's meant to be picked up. I actually picked it up. I heard about a program where people pick up books, read it and leave it somewhere else for the next person to pick it up. So, I'm gonna do just that. Some story about two brothers in the war. My kinda book. I love war stories. But a minute after I picked up a book, 2 cars nearly met with an accident. Pretty freaky, so I just hurried on fast. Picked up the white pages and called the Ted's and Diamonds to compare who could make a large print in the fastest time. A week from Ted's and the winner goes to Diamonds! Half an hour to an hour processing and printing. Sweet! You're mine on tuesday!

Wanted to get a piece of cheesecake for tomorrow. Cos it's mother's day, it's all sold out but I managed to get a cupcake for myself. Cupcake with a candle but then again, I have fat candles. No worries. Cupcake without a candle will still do. Indian take out is very important. Will head there alittle early cos the indian restaurant is always packed silly.

My neighbour seems annoyed with me practising Drifting on the guitar. Come on, it's not as bad as you playing James blunt for 212th time. You made me hate that poor dude.

Alright photos left lying around. Taken mostly at Hahndorf resort.

Video first, recommended by Tyler.

Listening: 'Ladyfingers' by Luscious Jackson

Woah another entry already? I just thought of writing a bit today but no photos though. The right side of my ribs are feeling very sore. Feel like someone beat the crap out of me and it's all bruising. No it's not bruising but it feels like it on the inside.

I went swimming this morning and it was quite terrible. At first I shared Lane 3 with some old dude which was fine cos it's usually crowded at 6 plus in the morning. He left and I had the lane to myself. Then this lady came by and shared the lane with me and just so then, Lane 1 was empty. So I switched lanes. Finished the third set of my laps when this guy was like gunning for me in my lane. Bet he didn't see my open mouth gasp underwater. He could've waited for me to finish the lap and then go. Not just appear out of nowhere. Near collision might I add. I recognise this guy. He always swims in Lane 1 like it's his lane or something. It's a freaking public pool dude. Decide to call him the 'Pot belly shark'. I can only swim 2 laps at a time with this guy. The lady next to me in Lane 2 was saying to me 'You always have people coming into your lane all the time'. Oh well. I think the original lady in Lane 3 must have overheard and moved to Lane 4. Seriously she didn't have to move. I'm not mad at her. Just this pot belly shark. Plus it's hard to share a lane with him. He's a big guy with no swimming etiquette. *growls*

Don't make me start on the Malaysian lady who enjoys watching herself naked in the changing/shower room in the swimming academy. Never liked her cos whenever she saw me near something, 'oh can you get that for me?' Of course there are some ladies who are nude at some point but they face the wall and get dressed. For her, comes out naked. Stands in front of the mirror naked and watched her reflection apply cream all over the body. Might I add, she's not that young. I had to take my glasses off to let my short sightedness take over. I remember the two young girls in the room didn't even shower. They just changed quickly and got out fast. I got out pretty fast. Today I saw her again. I finished showering when she came in. You have no idea how fast I got out this time round.

Been thinking of reorganizing the storage in the house. Mom's sending over more sheets and towels. Currently my clothes are sharing with the sheets and towels and some cosmetics. All in one small cupboard. With more on the way, I think I better reorganize. Just so happen that today they were showing on Oprah, how to utilize small spaces. So definitely gonna get some baskets for the towels and sheets and put some stuff into the luggage bag. All this in June. Also, they were showing small spaces in houses. 7 1/2 feet long, skinny house. Orignally an alley. I like the way they said, something about small houses that gives this happy feeling. That's how I feel with this space. It's just perfect for me. 4 big steps from the living room, I'm into the study. I just enjoy it when people visit the house and they describe it as cosy. Favourite piece of furniture? Beanbag. Definitely.

I just realised how the house back home is huge. Well, I did discover how big it was one time in the middle of the night. I did a marathon which I did not train for. Resulted in sore aching legs and when I walked, man, it's like stabbing pain throughout both legs. So I needed to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. As I walk real slowly and painful, was when I realised, why is the f***ing toilet so far away? I used that word cos then I was in serious pain. You should see the tears streaming down my face walking to and fro from the bathroom. But I like my bed back home. It's a double bunk bed. I conquer the bottom. Cos it seems like a tiny space which I can embrace like a tiny room of my own. So I've always enjoyed tiny spaces since young. I've already got in mind what to do. Need to visit Ikea or reject shop.

Listening: 'Detoriate' by Demon Hunter

How's everyone going? Got more people reading my blog from here. Hopefully it's not like what Ned was saying 'I had milk this morning...' kinda blog. Do let me know if it's going to that direction cos then it would have been really boring.

Currently I have my balcony door open. That toilet bleach cleaner is freaking strong. The smell is killing me. Ah! It better go away soon before I suffocate. Nah kidding, I will survive. I kept my promise in cleaning up the house after 2,3 weeks. Cleaned the toilet, tidy alittle, sort out clothes. Bringing the warmer wear out of the cupboards and keeping the summer clothes. See ya soon shorts! Ironing. Man, that's the only chore I'm bad at. Give me cleaning toilets, laundry, washing the dishes, vacuum but ironing. I try and try but it's still not quite as what I want. Wait till the master of ironing come next month. Probably get him to iron my clothes *evil laugh* Kidding love!!

Managed to catch up with some movies with Flyboys, Bridge to Terabithia and just now I managed to watch 'Because I said so'. Yes a once in a while chick flick for the girl who lives on her own. But I would definitely flip if I had a mom like Diane Keaton's character. Issues people!! Sort out your stuff and not dwell in other people's issues. Luckily my parents aren't that meddlesome. Big phew! Though mom, when you do come over, please cook me chilli crabs? The one you make at home. I'll cook you something in return. I promise. *puts on big puppy eyes*

It's been pretty nice having the rain here though on 3 occasions, I got caught in the rain badly. One time. The other two was just the drizzle and praying quietly to hold up for 15 minutes while I get my stuff and walk home fast. I always forget to bring my brolly and when I do, nothing happens. For that one bad time, I looked like some fool running from tree to tree. No not bollywood style. Under the tree for me thank you. In the end I gave up and just went for it and enjoyed it. Came home dripping wet. Really refreshing. Reminds me of back in high school.

I had to do another photoshoot for the self portrait assignment. Robin wants cheesy and 'in pain' photos for the painting. Seriously, the cheesy bit is very painful. My cheeks and jaw were burning that I had to stop after 10 minutes. Luckily I got quite a few good cheesy ones. I'll make it more cheesy in photoshop or something so I can draw it accordingly. *rubs cheeks*

Speaking of photoshoot, I'm pretty relieved that Suzy is still up to being my model for the last photography assignment. I just saw an idea in Deviantart. A wedding dress but nah. When I thought back of what I did in poly, I think I rather spare her the agony. Trust me. Just have to find a slot to book us in and let her know in advance so she can put off work for me. Thanks suzy! Told her I'll owe her a good meal for it. She was like a small budget will do. Haha. Wait till she realises how much she'll have to go through. That's why I better push the budget abit up. Don't want a episode of 'My name is earl' where I have to paste fake eyes on the face.

Still debating the issue of ugg boots in my head and one of my goals on the wishlist is close to coming true. 5 more weeks! Will the postman stop throwing my packages into my neighbour's balcony *gives the evil eye*
